Praying and Living the Kingdom

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement where millions of Christians from different denominations around the world pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus.

Background

Since it began in May 2016, God has grown TKC from a dream of possibility into a movement which unites more than a million Christians in prayer, in nearly 90% of countries worldwide, across 85 different denominations and traditions- so that friends and family, neighbours and colleagues might come to faith in Jesus Christ.

Every person, household and church are encouraged to pray during the 11 days in their own way.

It is our hope & prayer, that those who have not yet heard the Good News of Jesus Christ and His love for the world, will hear it for themselves and respond and follow Him.

Specifically, we again invite each and every Christian across the globe to pray that God’s Spirit might work in the lives of 5 people who have not responded with their ‘Yes’ to God’s call.

Whether you have joined in ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ before or not, we invite you to take part & join in.

“In praying 'Thy Kingdom Come' we all commit to playing our part in the renewal of the nations and the transformation of communities."

Here is how you can taking part:

Archbishop Justin hopes to see every Church join this global wave of prayer from 9th – 19th May 2024.

During the 11 days, it is hoped that everyone who takes part will:

During the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come, it is hoped we'll:

Deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Pray for 5 friends or family to come to faith in Jesus.
Pray for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to be effective in our witness.

For the 9th year of Thy Kingdom Come 2024 – at COGOP Croydon we are incorporating Thy Kingdom Come in all our services.  We encourage everyone to specifically pray for the 5 individuals – by committing to pray for 5 minutes (1 minute per individual), at each service and during personal devotional time.

Throughout Thy kingdom Come 2024, we will also use a daily prayer journal and devotional (Novena) to help us deepen our relationship with God.

1. What can you do?

Throughout Thy kingdom Come 2024, we will also use a daily prayer journal and devotional (Novena) to help us deepen our relationship with God.

2. Make your light shine

Over the next few week’s we’ll keep in touch, and send you videos and resources to encourage and inspire you.

3. Be expectant

As we pray ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ let us consider what God might be calling us to do in our churches, our homes, our community, our workplaces, the nation/world and in our own lives. We hope to support you on this continuing journey in helping us all become witnesses for Jesus.
